Babycakes opens in Los Angeles!

I just found out that New York-based Babycakes opened this weekend in the Pacific Electric Lofts at 6th and Main in downtown Los Angeles. Though we never made it to their East Coast headquarters, Babycakes L.A., here we come!

I love seeing "gluten free" written all over the display window...

No writing. Just yum.

These were my absolute favorite cupcakes when I lived in NYC. While I'm just allergic to wheat and not gluten, their gluten free products are AMAZING! Try the little brownie bites too!

Very interesting! I like how mainstream gluten free is becoming.

My main questions now are what kind of ingredients are they using? If they are subbing potato starch and gums in place of glutenous flours, they aren't REALLY changing the paradigm all that much as people who have issues with gluten usually end up having problems with potato and corn starches or xanthan gum.
