What's your favorite gluten free food product?

If you had to choose just one favorite gluten free food item, what would it be?

Great question!! My fav "healthy" gluten free food product is Lara Bars. My fav "not so healthy" food product is Trader Joe's flourless chocolate cake.

If I could only pick one, it would be Glutino Gluten Free Lemon Sugar Wafer cookies. Not healthy AT ALl, but I love them.

For baking, I love Pamela's Baking Mix. It is very versatile and I love the flavor of it.

I asked my husband and his first response was Nature's Path line of gluten free cereals and bars!

My favorite (if I have to choose just one) is Bakery on Main apple cinnamon granola. It is good as a cereal and also as a topping sprinkled on yogurt and fruit. Before i found it I was missing some kind of gf granola. http://bakeryonmain.com/wheat_gluten_free.html

I say Nut Thins crackers and my husband would say Redbridge Beer!

Hello Martha,

To answer your question of what gluten free product is a favorite of mine, would be the flours. If I didn't have gluten free flour, I think I would die. Anything else, I normally don't buy such as prepackaged meals and even rice cakes are naturally gluten free. There are many products on the market that are naturally unprocessed with wheat or gluten but those are the most specific GF item I use.

Thanks for the post.

It's great that there are so many wonderful gluten free products, and more every day, but the first thing that came to my mind is the Gluten-Free Pantry perfect pie crust mix. I love it. And, it makes gluten free baking just a bit easier.

I agree with Karen. The Glutino lemon wafers are sensational.

Oh, just one? I'd have to say Tinkyada pasta. It is the only pasta we use and I just love it. My husband, who does not have any food allergies/intolerances,says he can't tell the difference between Tinkyada and wheat pasta.

There are so many to choose from! My husband and daughter have Celiac, so I am always on the lookout for new gluten-free products so that I don't have to make everything from scratch! The one product we could not live without is Tinkyada pastas. Coming from an Italian family, we eat a lot of pasta!

pamela's brownie mix!

I can only pick one? Gluten Free Pantry Brownie Mix. I can't eat it anymore because I'm allergic to potatoes (potato starch). But my daughter eats them while I drool over her! I think they are the best brownie mix and would put it up against any gluten filled brownie mix any day!

So tough to decide... mine seem to change everyday. Hmm, I would have to say Nature's Path Mesa Sunrise cereal. It's delicious, has a decent amount of fiber and comes in bags so it's environmentally friendly.

And ditto on Tinkyada -- that stuff is a Godsend.

And if I can have a third "favorite" I'd have to say So Delicious Coconut Milk yogurt.

Great post idea!

Van's Waffles!!

I so agree about the Van's Waffles! I wouldn't get through the morning otherwise. That is breakfast most workdays.

And I love all of Amy's gluten free foods - both soups and frozen meals. That's lunch at work.

Bacon. Definitely bacon. I like Oscar Mayer Natural - no nitrates or nitrites. I found it cheap at Meijer this week. I bought five packages. (Yes, I live alone. Don't judge!)

This is a HARD question!!! For baking I'd have to go with Pamela's baking mix. LOVE that stuff, makes the BEST pancakes ever! and it is soooo versatile.

Prepackaged things.....hmmmm.... Pamela's small bites chocolate cookes are yummy!

Rice Chex and Dove chocolates are favorites too....when it comes to everyday brands.

gfe--gluten free easily said...

I eat naturally GF foods almost all of the time ... ones that will never say "gluten-free" on the label. Plus, I do my own baking for GF treats. However, I do use Van's waffles to make bread crumbs for recipes (much better than the GF packaged bread crumbs and you just make what you need--easy). And, I use Tinkyada pasta occasionally.

I also agree with Kay on the bacon as a favorite mainstream product (not indulged that much LOL)! I had not heard of the no nitrate version of OM bacon ... I'll be looking for that, Kay--thanks!

Tinkyada pasta is definately in the runnung. However, you can't beat Pamela's Baking Mix. I make cookies, pancakes, muffins, etc... with this mix and have never had poor results. It is a life saver.

I would probably say quinoa flour, and the second option would be brown rice pasta. I just really like the flavour, I've never been into white pasta, so the brown rice based pasta tastes a lot like full wheat pasta.

But just picking one I would say quinoa flour; I don't think I would doing much baking without it (maybe with nut flours, but that's another story). I have never eaten much of those gluten-free flour mixes, nor have I eaten prepackaged stuff much, so whole flours were my only option, otherwise I would have been left with eating just mainly veggies, meat and potatoes, which is not a bad option, but it's nice to bake sometimes and eat bread.

I like the Tapioca Loaf by Energy Foods. And the Lemon Wafers by Glutino are really good... But my true favorite is our own homemade gluten free goodies :)

Hmmmm....a tie between Green's Beers and Glutino Pretzels. Bacon is up there too!

My favorite naturally gluten free food is plantain chips. But packaged, I love Trader Joe's GF mixes: Brownie Mix and Pancake & Waffle. Yum!

I Am Gluten Free said...

Ooh, this is a really hard one to answer only because there are SO many gluten free products that I love and am eternally grateful for! For now, I'll say any mix from Breads From Anna (www.glutenevolution.com). Her breads are the closest to tasting like wheat bread that I've had since going gluten free. And she has a mix for every allergy you can think of. Besides gluten free, she has dairy free and yeast free and soy free and rice free. Her mixes have been a blessing and a gift to the gluten free world!
