i dont think it's an age thing, it's a style/figure thing. i cant quite imagine myself wearing knee socks - but perhaps its simply that i havent got the confidence for it!
i don't like setting age limits on any one look, but i think over-the-knee socks look great with really high shoes, so as long as you can still rock those, i think it's game on!

Personally, I don't believe its about the age. I think its more about your style, shape, and figure. I love when knee socks just stick out above knee high boots.
ugh. I wore this look in high school...I don't like it for anyone over 12 really but agree with Emily that if you can rock it, then you should...anyone over 30 who wears it though looks idiotic...now the knee high and over the knee boots is a completely different story.
hullo. just stumbled upon your blog. my two cents: i wear knee socks around the apartment with cute little dresses to feel like a little parisian minx. i'm desperate for the day i find a suitable/flattering outfit to introduce my lovely grey knee socks to the outside world. unfortch, it's already getting too cold in oslo to leave even one bit of skin exposed. how bum.
I'm the owner of a gluten free gift basket company and live in Los Angeles with my husband and our three kids. Despite way too many years of practice, I remain a domestic klutz. Thank goodness no baking is required to run my shop.

Well I do like the socks, but those shoes in the second pictures... ick.
I do love kneesocks & kneehighs, but I'm on the fence as to how old is too old. Maybe 30.
I love rocking knee high and over the knee socks and I am almost 30! (shhh don't tell anyone)
I definitely think it's more suitable for those in their 20's. It's cute but at 34 not so sure I would try to pull it off.
i'm not sure what age you should stop wearing them, but i will definitely be wearing some knee highs this winter.
I love that look. But I'm 40 and I think I'd look and feel like a big dork in those.
I will have to get some Kneesocks now! those are great for Fall!

Ted...
I love that first look! I support the socks, takes me back to my high school uniform days!
Well the two models look beautiful, my 16 year old daughter would look beautiful. But at 47, I think I'd be pushing the envelope. :)
I love the second girls outfit.

Well, I think if you have the legs for them...than go for it!

I loove this look. I remember after Clueless came out, I wore these for about a year. However, I'm definitely not bold enough to try them now... yet!
