Self-described as "clean, simple and comfortable," Farmhouse Wares is one of those shops where it's kind of hard to choose merely a few faves. Practically everything in this store is my favorite. Go visit, and you'll see what I mean.
A wicker bread basket by Comptoir de Famille
Tin French pots
Savon de Marseille olive oil soap cube
Brick French dishtowels
Marmiton tian rustic yellowware bowl
(I wasn't sure if this one qualified as being French, but I LOVE yellowware for the kitchen--and marmiton's etymology is French, meaning chef's assistant or kitchen boy.)

And when the groove is dead and gone.
I've been watching the news coverage of Michael Jackson now for six hours straight. (And I still don't believe it.) Biggest. star. ever. He will be missed.

It may be gray, but it's definitely not drab.
I think it's apparent that this apartment belongs to a graphic designer and an interior design shop assistant. I also think it's apparent that I've been liking gray for some time now.

The Human Calendar
While reading the fab and gluten free blog Fab Grandma, I discovered a calendar gadget on her right sidebar. The Human Calendar is a website where you can obtain the code for widgets/gadgets/contraptions of the calendar to place on your own website or blog. Neat, huh? Notice The Brady Bunch-esque quality to the calendar's design.

...and the Funky Blog Award goes to Absolutely Not Martha!
Thank you to Monica at Ciao, Chessa! for bestowing upon me this lovely honor. I shall now pass it to Droll Girl, The Claw and The Lil Bee. (I've been waaaaaaay behind on my blog reading, so I could only think of these three at the moment. However, if you feel your blog qualifies as "funky"--by all means, award yourself! Just let me know about your blog, OK?)
*Oops. I just noticed that Monica gave award to Droll Girl too! Did I break some blog award-giving rule?

I've been busy preparing for a tag sale (a.k.a. a yard sale) we're having tomorrow. Wooooo-hooooo! It will feel so great to get rid of stuff. My current mantra: If you don't use it or think it beautiful, throw it out. Have a fabulous weekend! Here are the links...

make a photo coffee sleeve at The Object Project via WhipUp
Think Father's Day.

Flickr photo: vanilla spoon drops
Remember when I found out that Vanilla Spoon is the name of a flower? Well, here's another beautiful image of this African daisy. Isn't it amazing how the water drops are refracting (I just learned this is not the same as reflecting) the flower behind them?
