Weekly links

Do you recall my lack of inspiration to blog? Truth be told, it's due in part to lack of time. I've been so busy lately looking for (dare I say?) a real job. In addition, I've also got husband, three kids and running a little online shop. Since I am a little out of practice, do any of you have tips for job hunting? To my readers in Los Angeles, what would your suggestions be for a part-time gig in a (preferably) creative environment? Please shoot me an email (Jackie AT VanillaSpoons DOT COM) with any detailed info/leads/contacts. Muchas gracias. Warm weekend wishes, and here are your links...

Love the driftwood lamp..You know I'm job hunting at the moment too! still no luck with two weeks left to go at my current job, eek! I don't have any tips really except don't leave your hunting until the last minute and never be late to an interview. but that's obvious really :)

i'm on the hiring committee where i work and i look a lot of resumes. my advice, write a GOOD cover letter that address the position you're applying to. personalize it to that position, so many people don't and we never give their applications a second look.
good luck!

I loathe job hunting. What are you looking for? I can give you some ideas but don't have contacts in LA, only NY. s

Definitely use your creative skills and get NOTICED! Vamp up your resume and cover letter with a cleverly design-esque header, and also if there is a favorite spot you frequent, maybe pop in and see if they're hiring. Since you're already a regular and loyal customer, they may love for you to work for them! That's how I got my new part-time gig! ;) Good Luck!
